National Level Symposium at SRM University

Hi friends…

We got two prizes at National level Symposium at SRM University.

On 16 & 17 of Sep 2010 SRM University, Chennai, conducted the National level Symposium in the name “Fabulush ’10”.  There are above 60 colleges participated in the event.

Me and my friends of my college had gone to participate in the events of Fabulush 2010.  There were 9 events in over all 60 colleges.  There my college won two prizes.  Here Yassir won First prize in the “Project presentation” event and Pravin got second prize in “Web and show” event.  We expected a prize in “Adzap” event but unfortunate we could not get it.

We like the environment of this college and also like the students behaviour.  The volunteers of this event co operated with us and also helped us.

Its really nice experience.  Its my second symposium of my college life.  After finishing those events we went to hotel and ate well.  In this symposium our college faculty also came with us.  We thank to him.

WordPress is web software you can use to create a beautiful website or blog. We like to say that WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.

WordPress first started as just a blogging system, but after it used as full content management system.  It acts a user friendly management system.  Even non-technical user can create a interactive web site.

My thoughts about wordpress here:

One of the most powerful content management system is joomla which easy to access.

A content management system (CMS) is the collection of procedures used to manage work flow in a collaborative environment. These procedures can be manual or computer-based. Its for :

* Allow for a large number of people to contribute to and share stored data
* Control access to data, based on user roles. User roles define what information each  usercan view or edit
* Aid in easy storage and retrieval of data
* Reduce repetitive duplicate input
* Improve the ease of report writing
* Improve communication between users

I has been learning this wonderful open source software.  I amazed to see the wonderful joomla.  I can change my templates in attactively.

Dawn of the Net

I am very glad to say this.  Yesterday I finished my “Dawn of the Net” work.
This is the tamil version of the video “Warriors of the Net” available in www.warriorsofthe.net.

How I did:

I did the work with my friend’s help. In first thing I thank to Shrini, who encouraged me to do the work then Bala, who translated the whole video into Tamil and the KanchiLug Rocks for their help.

For the work I used audacity, mencoder and ffmpeg.

First we translated the video into tamil. Then we split the video based on the time line.

Then I gave dubbing in several clips and merged all the clips in correct time line used by audacity.

Then had to separate the video and audio in the English version

mencoder -idx -ovc copy -nosound input.avi -o outfile.avi

To merge the video and the tamil dubbed audio

mencoder yourvideo -audiofile youraudio -ovc copy -oac copy -o result.mpg

To convert the video format into mp4

ffmpeg -i video_origine.mpg video_finale.mp4

Finally I did.

Its for our Tamil :

Yesterday I tried to create a account on Wiki Ubuntu.  But at starting I could not create it.  Then I searched what i do.  Then after some hours I created the account.

First I installed moin moin engine.  It helped me how to create the account.  At starting when I create,  It showed the time zone error. Then I changed the time.

In that time I also created some accounts such as jabber.org, Ubuntu forum and Ubuntu beginners team.

To create a wiki ubuntu account, have to edit the following page.

I don’t know what I do then my friend gave a link to study to edit this page.

Its for your help:

Help on moin wiki syntax

Finally I edited the page and created the account.
